VINTAGE ABSTRACT OIL ON CANVAS BY WNY ARTIST

Vintage abstract oil on canvas artwork signed by renowned WNY artist Margaret Etenger (1902 - 1991). Acquired from an estate by local art collector. Features soft palette with pastels and deep purple hues and abstract biomorphic shapes. Well executed large format piece, signed and stamped on verso, with thin wood frame painted light metallic golden silver. Mrs. Etenger was born in Scranton, Pa., and moved to the area at a young age. She graduated from the Buffalo Seminary and studied art in France. She was an award-winning painter and a member of the Buffalo Society of Artists and the Members Gallery at the Albright-Knox Art Gallery.
