Abstract painting with watercolor and pencil stretched on large format canvas by local artist Mary Wyrick. Textural, playful and bright composition with pastel tones and snippets of bright bold color throughout.

stretched and ready to be hung, signed lower right and also marked in back with artist’s name, address and name of the show “Spring Mills Show” circa early 2000s.

 

From a 2018 Artist Talk at Hallwalls Gallery Buffalo, NY:

"Originally from North Carolina, I received a Painting BFA at UNC-Chapel Hill. I taught Art and Spanish at a junior high school and earned a Masters in Art Education at Appalachian State. I earned a PhD in Art Education at Penn State with a dissertation on artists using news media. A job in the Buffalo State Art Education Department brought me here, where I have retired after being a Professor for 20 years." Her work has been show at Albright-Knox Art Gallery, The Jones House Art Gallery, Hallwalls Contemporary Art Center, Castellani Art Museum, Burchfield Penney and others.

Condition

Vintage, very good condition stretched and ready to be hung. Slight tear on upper side and slight wrinkling in lower left corner (see photos). Hangs flush to wall and lightweight.
