1780 FRENCH CHERRY WOOD COMMODE SAUTEUSE WITH LOCK
Height of the Gregorian era two drawer pull out chest with brass locks and key. Made of solid fir wood this beauty is a circa 1780 French sauteuse commode. Sporting hand carved drawers and legs in an unusual geometric motif, brass hardware, locking drawers (locks work and yes we have the original key), raised panel sides, solid wood back and drawers. Features all dove tailed, doweled and mortised construction which means no metal nails or screws for fastening except on hardware cartridge.
Condition: Excellent vintage condition consistent with age and use. Overall great shape and patina retained over 240 years, however structurally sound.
